Rommy Rodriguez.A.
Rommy brings over 21 years of executive-level experience in the not-for-profit sector, with a career dedicated to advancing the visibility, development, and professional recognition of individuals within the design and architecture community.
She began her work as Outreach Coordinator at the Ontario Crafts Council, where she focused on engagement and public-facing initiatives. She then served for 14 years as Associate Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Architectural Technologists (formerly OAAAS), where she played a central role in the organization’s growth and operations. Her responsibilities spanned governance support, certification programs, member services, and the development of strategic initiatives aimed at elevating the profile and impact of Architectural Technologists across Ontario.
Through this work, Rommy developed a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit infrastructure, board dynamics, and the mechanisms that support sustainable professional communities.
She now serves with the AIA Canada Society in a senior operational capacity, supporting executive leadership, board governance, and national programming. Her work contributes to organizational continuity, stakeholder alignment, and the delivery of initiatives that support the advancement of the architectural profession.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Rommy brings a cross-cultural perspective and a strong interest in fostering connections across regions. She is particularly engaged in exploring opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange within the broader AIA International network.
